I agree with Joseph. All those medications are really just a waste of money and some people experience unwanted side effects. In addition, they don't really work at all for receding hairline. Nothing is going to restore the hair you lost. Don't sweat it. As you get older a good portion of your buddies will be in the same boat or worse. Don't stress, it's only hair.
I'm the same age with the same thing going on. Nothing you can do. Rogaine is for hair loss on the top of your head, not a reseeding hairline, so drugs won't help. Just something we'll have to get used to. Best not to go out of your way to try and hide it, people can tell and it just looks sad.
I'm all for "accepting nature" and losing my hair gracefully. But lets keep in mind that many people work in environments where appearance is crucial (not everyone is as accepting as those of us on this site).
When this started happening to me (around my 20th birthday), I decided I'd give a few of the remedies a shot. My doctor prescribed me Propecia. It does actually work, but you have to be patient (and consistent). I also tried Rogaine for a brief while, but later determined I wasn't a huge fan.
Furthermore, I use some of the products offered by Nioxin. They've got a great lineup of products for all men.
The others are right, don't dwell on hairloss. However, there's no harm in trying a couple of the more respectable remedies. After all, where would we be without modern day medicine?

Propecia. I've been on it since i turned 21 and noticed the same problem. I have long hair now and cannot say enough good things. 80%+ stop losing hair, and approximately 50% re-grow hair. Do it. Or shave your head if you have a shapely dome.
male alopecia isn't really something you can treat. as zach mentioned, some remedies might work to some people - if you don't have anything against a trial period you might give any of the known products a go - propecia, rogaine & all. I myself lost "it" at 27 in the shape of a large landing strip starting at the forehead and going all the way to the top. 8 years later, there's almost no hair there. for me treatments did not work, which left me pretty much out of options... and very good friends with the hair trimmer.
eventually I got used with wearing something on my head at all times - a bandanna if it's too hot or a tuque on cold days. and although it's not something I really got over (apparently one never does), I found myself less and less thinking about it.
If you're noticing some slight recession, it may not be something to worry about at the moment. I am 25 and started to see thinning and recession about a year ago.
I started using some hair-thickening shampoo and styling products, that would not weigh my hair down, and promote more loss. These can be purchased at almost any drug store or supermarket, and tend to be a bit more expensive than normal shampoo and conditioner. Also, drying my hair less vigorously after showering has helped as well.
Not only did I not break the bank on Rogaine, but I've lost much less hair after showering, toweling, and styling my hair.
Accepting it gracefully is a great idea, when it's inevitable, and drugs are something you have to keep up forever. Some simple extra care can ensure that you hold on to the hair you have longer than you would have.
At our barbershops we deal with this question everyday and while there are no miracle cures, this product set has received the best feedback and results. It's from Sigma Skin and is thier Hair Regrowth System. We haven't personally used it (as we're not in that balding boat), but the company behind it, our barbers and the guests who have used it give it promise. http://www.groominglounge.com/sigmaregrowthset.html

The best thing to do is accept nature and lose your hair gracefully. You can shave it or keep it shorter. No wigs. No combovers or comb-forwards. No drugs. When you truly accept it, you will be happier and your confidence will make you a more attractive person.
