I work the graveyard shift. I don't see how it would be any different then someone working out at 5 or 6 when they get home from work. As long as you are on a sleeping schedule that is going to leave you with energy after your shift.
Personally I like to work out in the afternoon before work and then try to sleep as soon as I get home. That keeps me from needing to shower twice a day and gives me some added energy for the day before work. Then I don't have to worry about staying late at work or being tired or lazy when I get home.
It doesn't matter what time you workout at all that matters is THAT you workout. Since you work late at night, working out in the morning may help you, since working out releases endorphins it may help you be happier throughout the day. But no matter when you workout you just need to make sure that you give your body enough time to recharge getting enough sleep and eating right.
