What is the best aftershave? I'm looking for something in a classic scent much like the old barbershops, but not too overwhelming like cologne.
I like The Art of Shaving. I've tried a couple of other brands (menscience, lab series, aqua di parma) during the three years I've used The Art of Shaving but none were as good. They use essential oils for any fragrance - Sandalwood is my personal favorite. Only con is it's a bit pricey.

I prefer an unscented aftershave because I don't want anything that's going to effect the smell of my cologne. I prefer the Kiehl's Ultimate Men's After-Shave Balm & Moisturizer. It's amazing. I only need a little bit and it leaves my skin baby soft. Then I put on cologne.
I would recommend Art of Shaving After-Shave Balm, specially if you have sensitive skin. Being antiseptic and alcohol-free, it carries the essential moisturizes to help rejuvenate your skin, not leaving that scent which may compete with your cologne.

Check out Musco Real. Its very much a more traditional after shave. I shave with a straight razor and it works great for me.
Check out Nivea products. The scent isn't strong and the products are really good for your skin.
I really enjoy the products in Geo F. Trumper's Skin Food line. They work great pre-shave as well. The scents are mild, not overwhelming, but smell fantastic. The 'Extract of Limes' scent is pretty self explanatory and the 'Coral' is lightly scented with rose water.
