I've never used Overnight Prints, however, they have me on their mailing list and I recently received a promotional email stating that for a limited time, they are offering 30% off on business card orders in quantity of 1,000.

I had my cards printed at http://www.uprinting.com/ for free when they were running a special and was satisfied with both the process and results.
4by6.com has some really nice cards. Very heavy, the satin finish is incredible, and the rounded corners are amazing. Always get compliments on them.
Ditto on Overnight Prints. I've ordered from them twice, and I've been satisfied both times. The card design function is the easiest to use among the sites I've used. It allows you to center text within a text box and also inside the printable area of the card. It seems obvious, but it's the only one I've come across that does that. You can also add lines and limited shapes, and it's relatively easy to get the lines straight.
They have reasonable shipping rates, including expedited printing and shipping options. My only gripe with them is that the cards are a bit shiny, and I like matte finish not only for the look, but pragmatically so you can jot additional information on them as well.
Let me say, do NOT order from Zazzle.com. Their cards look flashy and have plenty of fonts to choose from, and also have snazzy looking small format and large format cards, but they use very poor quality stock and very poor quality ink. I upgraded to a heavier gauge stock, for extra money, but the cards still felt flimsy and cheap. Also, within days, the blue ink started to turn pink. Bad news. Not very professional.

Look no further. Carderizer makes a product so fine, that even Sheikh Issa bin Zayed al Nahyan wouldn't dare torture you for a deal gone bad.
I've always loved embossed cards - there's just something classy about them. These guys will also do custom shapes, round corners, and all the other good stuff you may want and need. Hope this helps.
If being "green" is a factor in your decision, I would recommend http://www.greenerprinter.com. I've had great luck with them. They produce a quality product and are environmentally friendly.
Frankly, whenever I need paper products, whether it is stationery, correspondence cards, or business cards, I use Crane's. The company has been making superior paper products for over 200 years, and if it is good enough for the US Mint, it is probably sufficient for your purposes. I personally have my cards printed on their 96LB stock.
If you want even more high-end try Smithson's of Bond street, the Queen's personal paper good company.
Finally, if you want something 100% unique & super cool try mandate press (www.themandatepress.com). I cannot say enough good things about their work.
Check out MOO for the best cards. The price is right and the quality is second to none.
I'll second www.overnightprints.com
I use them for my business cards and other 4×6 promotional cards.
Fast turnaround as well
I know that you are looking for an online print shop for your business cards, as was I a month ago. However with small businesses everywhere looking for a way to stay profitable, I was able to find a local print shop (I live in Kernersville NC) who was able to take my design, and printed in 2 days, for a price that was well below any online print shop. So check your local phone book, it may work out for you as it did me. That being said I have used www.overnightprints.com in the past and was pretty happy.
i will also vouch for overnight prints. as noted, the gloss is a little too glossy, but impressive for the turnaround time and uniformity of the print. have used them for a half dozen different projects and no complaints.
i am also intrigued with jak prints but have not been able to use them for a project. i was impressed with their print capabilities and options, as well as breadth of products. has "greener" options too.
I found a great company that does a good high quality business card (does postcards and other items as well but haven't tried them yet). He is a one-man show but I prefer to deal directly and support the little guys. I think he is a "print broker", whatever that is. Regardless, his quality is excellent and his prices are cheaper than most of the other sites listed here. 1000 thick (14pt) cards with either gloss (UV or Aqueous coating) or matte finish, full color on 2 sides, quick turnaround, delivered for $69. Don't be fooled by his web site - I think he likes to talk directly to customers.
