The point of a cologne is to make the woman get closer so she can get another whiff of that scent.
not so when you walk in the room you get all the attention....that should be reserved for your suave
Probably not. I could see using it sparingly to freshen up, but most people that I've seen use it bathe in it.
Their shampoo's and conditioners are not bad, surprisingly (or not...it's made by Unilever, which is a decent brand.)
No, and for the love of God please stop encouraging them. Unless you are 17 or younger there is no excuse for using Axe.
Women tell me how good I smell pretty often. And all I use is Right Guard.
No. No. and No. My son uses it, delusionally, thinking he smells hot and every time he does it sends my husband into a massive sneezing attack.
Any man (or boy) can buy a $5.00 canister of that weak stuff and appear to be smooth for about 5 minutes. I got a free promotional one a while back and now use it as the occassional room spray in my apartment, especially when my roommate burns his toast or cooks his pizza too long. But as far as using the stuff when going out, particularly to grab a woman's attention? Never. Step your game up. This Varvatos EDT will probably be the start of something good for you.
I have found that Axe is only really appealing to women when mixed with your natural musk (sweat.)
I usually keep a tiny sample can I received in my gym bag, and spray a bit on after I work out. For some reason, that snake oil, mixed with my sweat produces some pretty strong reactions from my wife.
I'm sure there is a scientific explanation for that, but more importantly it is a convenience. Use it sparingly if at all.
I asked this of one my female friends and she said that the body sprays smell better than poor hygiene but also be an adult and spend a little money on a real cologne.
It depends on the woman and your natural musk. One thing I must say...DON'T APPLY TOO MUCH!!!
If you use Axe body sprays, only use a little. I would recommend a small spray in each armpit of your shirt.
I knew a girl who loved the way I smelled when I only used a little of this stuff. But my current girl hates the stuff and loves the way I smell without it.
The best advice I could give you about smelling good is shower everyday, use a good smelling body wash and a loofa (the Axe body detailer is a manly loofa.) Make sure your shampoo, body wash, and deodorant are not all the same brand. A good mix is a fruity shampoo, and manly body wash and deodorant. That way you smell sweet but manly. Also, use a scented fabric softener, it helps too.
In the end, you will get a unique great smell that all women love, without any cologne or body sprays.
I use their antiperspirant because most antiperspirants smell like soap or pine trees. I prefer more of a cologne smell (Phoenix is my favorite Axe variety) but most colognes only make a wet deodorant and sometimes that doesn't cut it.
I don't use the sprays or anything because for that purpose it is easy to get something better (e.g. "real" cologne).
I like to call this shower in a can. It's good if you go out after work, then spend the night at your girlfriends house then have to go the work the next day and you haven't had the time to shower or you're wearing the same clothes for 2 days in a row. Then it's acceptable to use a little bit of the shower in a can. I like to keep it in the trunk of my car cause that's when it's most convenient.
Only if you spray a little bit, right after a shower. If you can smell when you have worn your clothes, you sprayed too much.
GOD NO. The only reason to use axe is as a flamethrower for idiots. Otherwise, Axe (and all other similar bodysprays) are disgusting. Man up and buy a stronger woody/musky cologne instead
Those girls falling all over the guy who does the double-pits-to-chesty are fake - it's a commercial. No one wants to be hit with a wall of scent when you walk in the room. Stay clean & keep it subtle; if you really want a little something extra, a dab of cologne at the base of your neck should suffice.
It smells god-awful.
However, I've used it once. A room-mate had it, and I was curious, so I gave myself a spray. That day in class, a girl came up to me, grabbed me by the ears, planted a kiss on my lips, and then ran out. Just like that. I tried to chase her down, but she out-ran me (she had a good head start, I was kinda shell shocked).
Make of that story what you will, but I still think it smells bad
No, dude. WOMEN like men that smell like MEN and not teenage boys. Try a little cologne - you'll get a better much reaction, especially if she ends at at your apartment one day.
That's stuff is for high school kids.
Try some more adult colognes like the following -
For spring/summer -
Gendarme
For fall/winter - Body Kouros
Whatever fragrance you choose, remember not to wear too much. Too much cologne is as bad as BO.
maybe, but the ones you actually want to bang would rather smell a good designer cologne, than some crap you got at walgreens in the douche aisle.
Yes. The kind of women who love the scent of teenage boys who live with the belief that they might have a hot three-way with chics they met in a laundry mat after applying the modern day equivalent of Hai Karate
Survey awhile back showed that women considered men who'd used them more attractive. BUT the catch was they only watched a video of them. They had more confidence!
Like everyone's been saying, don't bathe yourself in it. And only use it if you don't have access do anything better.
Bottom line is, if you're wearing it and a girl says she likes the way you smell, deny that it's Axe.
I'll tell you a true story. At my old office, I could work out and shower in the building. So one day, I bought some Axe, to try it and after a workout and shower, I sprayed as directed. The moment I walking into the office, our receptionist stopped what she was doing and stared at me. It was such a dramatic expression that I hesitated. She smiled and said,"you smell amazing, what did you put on?" Ten minutes later, my secretary walked into my office and uncharacteristically leaned in, took a deep draw, and said, "whatever you are wearing, keep wearing it, you smell great."
Since then I haven't stopped, though I use it like deodorant and not as a substitute for cologne.

NO! WE don't. AXE sprays smell cheap.
I like the colognes at this store:

I agree with most of these answers, it's great if you don't have time to take a shower. I recently flew from Detroit, MI to Melbourne, Australia. It was 22 hours of traveling with the final flight being 14 hours, I smelled like ass when I got off it was really bad. The first thing I did when I got inside the airport was pick up a small can of axe and go into the bathroom and strip down and gave myself a few small sprays. When my girlfriend picked me up she was surprised that I didn't smell bad.
Axe might smell appealing for a minute or two, but the stuff has a lot of chemicals and the smell is a bit overwhelming for most women to stomach in the long-term. As an adult trying to attract a female’s attention, you gotta go for something a tad nicer. We’re not saying that you can’t still rock the body spray in the same way that you did in high school; lots of classy brands produce what are essentially “big boy” versions of Axe’s stuff. Check out body sprays from Molton Brown for starters. Also try switching out your deodorant to a different, awesome-smelling one like the Acqua di Parma Intensa Spray and get ready to be surprised by how much your game improves.
Yes I love it when guys wear axe! :) Most people hate it, but I love it really strong were you can still smell it on there clothes and after they leave, im just like that, though most women hate it though sooo....

Kind of; back in high school I sprayed that stuff all over and girls liked it. Nowadays...eh, feel free to use it, just not over every part of your body (i.e. not like in the commercials).
