Just use a Gillette Fusion and shave your head. No hair to style == no worries!
CREW FIBER, is the perfect stuff if you want to style your hair but hate the greasy look. you dont need much and it doesnt even look like you have something in
I keep my hair a little longer than and inch and a half, use a little bit of a paste or cream in the morning (they're pretty much all the same) and drive to work. I drive a convertible so the wind adds its own take to the style. Then I check the mirror, tone down the poofy, and it looks great. Every time.
I use Sumotech by Bumble and bumble. Stuff works great and leaves you with a more natural look.

I try keeping my hair short and use about a quarter-size squirt of gel in my hand, rub my hands together quickly, run my hands through my hair and then -- if it's cold out -- I'll run the hairdryer for about thirty seconds. If it's warm I don't usually bother with the dryer. It looks natural but the gel keeps it from going all over the place.
And the best part is I don't remember the last time I used a comb or a brush. As long as it's somewhat short, I never need more than three minutes post-shower to get my hair looking good.
Ask your hairdresser to texturize your hair. It naturally gives your hair the effect that gel or pomade does, without the middle-school-boy shine. And always use the pomade over gel. It takes less than a dime-sized amount and be sure to apply evenly.
Just a little bit of styling wax and style to your liking. It will give you a dirty hair look with out it being dirty.
American Crew makes a pomade that is great for adding a subtle shape to your hair without the crispy, shiny mess that gel provides.
One non-product related thing to keep in mind is that too-frequent washing with shampoo can dry out your scalp and hair, stripping away the natural oils that otherwise provide protection and shine.
Depending on how greasy your hair tends to become naturally, consider alternating between clean-water rinses of your hair on some days and normal washings on others. The interval will give your hair time to recuperate between washings and lend a healthier appearance to most hair colors.
Couple that with a very light application of a non-gel product like the pomades mentioned above and a haircut that suits your head shape ( asking your stylist or barber to texturize is definitely a good idea as mentioned by others so far ) and you'll have a style that looks good and healthy just minutes after you roll out of bed.

I like styling paste (not gel). Just get a little dab and run it through your hair in the AM. It'll hold your hair and not get crispy. Redken makes a couple of good products.
