How about a Fossil Chronograph Green Dial

I've had Fossil watches for the last 12 years and have only ever broken one (girl changing the battery broke the metal strap) and Fossil replaced it with a brand new watch because they couldn't fix it.

Zodiac has some nice choices as well. I've got a blue-faced Sea Dragon and it rarely leaves my wrist-summer or winter, rain or shine.

I'm a fan of this Citizen Eco Drive with a canvas strap. I have small wrists and it still looks great. As a bonus it is not the size of a hubcap like most watches "in fashion", ie for douches.

Check out Nixon watches. They have a wide range of prices, and they're a surf/skate company so their watches are almost always waterproof, and it's very easy to tell on the website whether the watch you clicked on is waterproof or not, and to what depth. I've had a Nixon for about a year now, worn it almost every day, and it's still in great shape.

I love watches. It's one of the only pieces of jewelry that men can wear that actually has a function. I suggest a Seiko SKX007. These are of a diving variety that will probably put up with a lot more abuse than your average watch. They have a mechanical movement that does not require batteries ever. Like a kinetic, they wind with movement from your wrist. Unlike a kinetic, they can be had for around $150 and highly customizable if you are so inclined. Because they have no electronic parts, they will more than likely survive an EMP. So, in a post apocalyptic wasteland void of modern technology your watch will keep on ticking as you scavenge for canned food with your trusty dog by your side.
