Crate and Barrel has the uncrate approved Steelcase Think for $579 here .
Marc, a couple of options:
Turnstone is a Steelcase company, that provides more economical systems furniture options. Pretty inexpensive, and a good product (just not the best looking)
If you don't mind spending a little extra, check out Zody by Haworth. You should be able to find one online for around $550. Good luck.
keep checking craigslist for a used Herman Miller's Aeron....with the economy the way it is I'm sure there's lots of offices closing that need to get rid of their furniture.
Herman Miller's Mirra will only run around $600, and completely blows the Steelcase out of the water.
I run the Mirra at home and the Aeron at work, and the Mirra might even be more comfortable...
I really like my black bungee chair. It has that design-geek look; in fact I get compliments on what a good looking chair it is. It's pretty comfortable, and I got it at a local retailer for under $200 -- a price that can't be beat.
