"The C-Word"
If it is a sail boat and your in sales "SailsCall"
If its a party boat "Playbouy"
I always liked the name "Round On Me"... It says... im a baller and can buy a round of drinks AND come for a ride on me as well.
"Very Important Business"
Your secretary or assistant can tell people, "I'm sorry, he's out of the office today on Very Important Business."
"Cool Change" (port of Evansville Indiana)... lots of folks thought it was a neat name
Never reference female body parts, or sex like "Automatic Panty Dropper" for these will be automatic female repellant.
Do not reference money. That's just bad taste.
Do reference fun. And make it personal if you can't think of something clever.
Best female attractant? Get a head that is private and easy to operate.
When I was young, we had a 26' I/O called "Always Something." A very appropriate name for a boat, I've always thought.
I saw a boat called "Alimony III" once and thought it was hilarious.
As a history buff, I've always wanted to name a 45' sloop "The Siege Perilous" after the fabled seat.
Also, my parents had a 33' sloop named "The Artful Dodger", because they were able to use it use it as a tax shelter.
"Someday Came"
For all those times when you looked at those yachts and said, "Someday I'll have one of those"......well "Someday Came"
"The Edge of Wetness.".... as in "Would you like to go for a ride on the edge of wetness?"
"the sea ward" is my all time favorite i think I saw that on the tv show "Arrested Development"
i also like "the wet dream"
If you're in law, you could always go with "The Watertight Alibi". Or you could stay classy and just find a ship that's part of the existing lore and use that name (I'm partial to Argo from the story of Jason and the Argonauts).
The best name would be one with personal significance and a good story behind it, as it's the sort of thing people will inevitably ask you about.
You bought the boat, you worked hard for it, you will have to continue working hard to maintain it. I feel that the best name is one that will capture who you are, how you live, and perhaps the amount of sweat and blood you invested to get the boat.
Some random ideas / examples:
Trust fund boat --> Easy Breezy
retirement boat --> 401K Plan
Successful Entrepreneur / Businessman --> Set Sale
Just some thoughts, but my belief is to let the boat reflect who you are, by means other than its size.
Also can go with parody or reference if that seems more fitting. Like the amazing boat in the movie The Island, the 118 Wallypower
Could name your humble boat 'Wanna Be Wally'.
"Just another toy" this only if you already own a jet and at least a ferrari...
I had a buddy who bought a boat and was let go from his job 2 days later and called it "Severance Package"---classic. My other all time fave---"Jack's Off"
I've always wanted to name a boat after the ship in C.S. Lewis' novel "The Dawn Treader".
"Stugots" like Tony Soprano. Although I'd be partial to tradition and name it after a woman.
A friend's family named their boat Inn Heaven.
They owned a few Holiday Inn Hotels. Of course, the name was painted like the Holiday Inn font on the sign.
Seafood is a good one if you're a Caddy Shack fan.
Name her after a ship that made the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs....Millennium Falcon.
'Vertebrata' its the subphylum scientific name for sharks!
It all works great when its about a shark!
"Myassis Dragon" Then have a colorful picture of a Dragon floating over the land of Myassis.
Depends on what you are fishing for but i like:
"the happy hooker"
"Ain't no ho like a coho"
Come on now, it's an investment. A life choice so it has to be something classy and mature, like "The S.S. More Powerful Than Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, And The Incredible Hulk Put Together".
"The Big One." That way, when people ask which boat is yours, you can point with your head and say, "The Big One over there."
