The last one.

By then, the telltale brake lights of the cars in front will have alerted those at the tail end of the line.

It is usually the most nondescript vehicle in the pack. You don't want a noisy, brightly colored whip with go-fast addenda that is slammed to the ground.

I drive a small call, so I like to find a row of cars being led by a big one with a radar detecter. Then I try and get in the middle of that line. I figured either the first or last car will get pulled over but the middle may be too much hassle. I havent gotten a ticket since 2004 since i started doing that.

I used to have a 1985 Nissan 300zx turbo. White, t-tops, hood scoop. Never got pulled over, unless you count the two different occasions when a cop pulled up next to me to ask the year.

My red Honda Civic, however, was much more likely to get pulled over.

I heard (or read) that Hummer is most likely to be pulled over, probably because they are more visible or cops hate it too.
I sped all the time for 10 years in 95 Camry V4, 97 Camry V6, 06 M45, and 08 Accord V6. I have never gotten a single ticket.

I'm a retired police officer. It's easiest and safest to stop the rearmost car in a line of speeders, because you don't take the chance of being rear-ended by another car further back in the line. In my experience, it has nothing to do with the make, model or color of the car or of the driver. However, the best method for avoiding speeding tickets is to obey the posted speed limit. I do, and the last ticket I received was during the Nixon administration.

Well, since i assume you want a real answer instead of just a bunch of people scolding you about speeding, tied for first are the Buick Lucerne and the GMC Sierra 1500. For a top ten try http://autos.aol.com/gallery/least-ticketed-cars#

The one with the radar detector. I used to average about a ticket a year. Then I picked up a Valentine 1 and haven't been pulled over in 4 years.

A police officer once told me that if there are a line of cars all speeding by the same amount, he would be inclined to pull over the largest car. The reasoning? The largest car posed the biggest threat in the event of an accident.

Also, I've heard anecdotally that red cars get pulled over more often than any other colored car. I'm not sure if this is actually true or not.

OK. Here's the deal. Nevermind the guys that are saying drive the speed limit trying to be smart asses. everyone speeds no and again - but don't pretend you are in an F1 car. And never mind stats because they equate to a senior citezens car or a car that simply can't go fast. I drove a Honda Civic in school, a BMW M3 after grad for a while, and recently bought a Maserati Gran Turismo (about 1.5 years ago, after my promotion). In addition I have friends driving similar or nicer cars (Porsche 911 GT2, Ferrari F430...etc. etc.) Not trying to sound arrogant here, but this is my point: It doesn't make a difference! Speeding is Speeding, I got the same amount of tickets, and was jsut as likely to get pulled regardless if I was back in my 20s in the civic or bimmer, or currently in the mas. You're taking a risk, knowing the possible outcomes. "You gotta pay the cost to be the boss"

Take this advice from a NEW YORKER who drive around 5 hours a day. I use the bait technique. I let someone who is going really fast to pass me then I trail behind them usually around a quarter mile and use them as bait for the cops and an early waring for any cops that are hiding. I've been doing this for years and only got one speeding ticket in Arizona on some two lane rode in the middle of nowhere.

If you drive only in the municipalities do not speed. If you are driving 5 to 7 thousand(or more)a month get a radar detector(do not go cheap). Get a C.B. Do not be the first or last car in the convoy. Match your speed to the other cars. Lock your cruise control to their speed and back off at least 4 to 5 hundred yards. Listen to the chatter on the C.B. Keep your head on a swivel and be cognizant of your surroundings. I used to run a radar jammer as well, but they are illegal and will cost you more than a ticket. Find an attorney that can have the case thrown out or at a minimum gets you a ticket dismissal through driving school. Short of hiring some one to drive you around these are your best options
