I picked up some Gravis "sound check" sandals last year that I saw on this site. They are still going strong.

I've been wearing the Montrail Molokai Flip for about 5 years now. I've only gone through two pair. They have a textured thermo-moldable PRFRM™ footbed that's molded to your foot. Basically, you open the box, bake them for 20 minutes in the oven, put your foot in them, and create a mold of your foot. Creates an awesome fit that makes your foot slide less than other flip flops. I second the Gravis Soundchecks, also own Reef Fannings . Have had both for about 2 years. The Reefs are holding up a little better for me.

Reef. I have had a pair since early 1999, that have been my everyday sandal. I have put thousands of miles on them, and they still have a very sticky sole with lots of tread left and are molded perfectly to my feet. Reef makes great sandals with a lot to choose from, with a lot of varying price points. In my experience leather is nice, but a good cloth material will hold up ten times longer while not staining your feet when they get wet like leather tends to do.

I've always preferred Reefs to Rainbows. A good pair of brown leather Reefs will likely outlast even your general sensibility about when is a good time to buy a new pair of sandals. I've hiked them, beached them, caved them, skated them, even worn them in the snow, although they can stain your feet (temporarily of course) when they're wet. Good arch support and overall padding have made them a hands-down necessity wherever I am. Dark cloth would eliminate the potential water stain and slickness when wet, but they also tend to hold more water and stay wet longer.

Havaianas are with out a doubt the most popular flip-flops (a.k.a thongs) worn in Australia, and being a really hot place where we get a lot of wear out of these casual foot protectors, I'm confident enough to say these will last you for several summers.

They also come in a massive range of colours and motifs, e.g. Camouflage, Skulls & Crossbones, National flags, Metallic colours, Neon colours, jsut to mention a few.
