A comfortable sock will help, but some guys just sweat a lot and a talc powder in addition to a great sock is the way to go. Try “Balla Powder”: http://www.groominglounge.com/ballapowder.html Besides keeping the crown jewels nice and dry, put some on your feet and between the toes before putting on your socks. The talc powder will keep the feet nice and dry, healthy and smelling fresh. It’s one of our top sellers and will help battle Athlete’s Foot too which is a common problem for guys who sweat a lot.

Smartwool are by far the best socks.

They're a bit thicker than traditional dress socks but they are so comfortable and handle my sweaty feet with aplomb.

I find the Foot Joy Pro Dry/Dry Joy works well.
It wicks water away and keeps your feet dry.
You can find in any golf/sports shop.

I gotta say I love wool and wool blends for my sweaty feet, but I also love buying local when I can and I try to only buy American if I can't buy local. So I would suggest Cabot Socks, you can get them at Marshall's pretty cheap or online at various stores.

Try wool or a synthetic mix if the wool is too warm for your liking. Both should wick sweat well and both should resist getting smelly.

I wear pringle socks, they are fairly thin but still nice, and I never have any issues with them.

Try to wear socks made with a large percentage of natural fibre (wool or cotton) and change your shoes regularly (use cedar shoe trees when not wearing them).

Falke have a pretty big range of socks and though pricey, they are excellent quality. The 'Airport' wool (lined with cotton) is one I wear.

I had the same problem and what solved it for me was 100% cotton socks and good pairs of shoes with leather soles. Especially the all cotton socks made a big difference. I used these socks from Best Socks
