Well if you want something good and affordable I'd reccomend a Muji Whee Carry
I dig the Tumi LXT Roller Duffel - http://www.tumi.com/lxt/20inch-wheeled-duffel/
Without question, the Rimowa Salsa is the best and for several reasons. The shell is indestructable-- they make it with the same stuff used for police shields. It looks great even after years of weekly air travel. The number one reason are the wheels though. The wheels swivel in all directions and allow you to wheel through airports upright, not dragging it behind you, and you can drag it behind if necessary for ramps. I like Tumi stuff, and I have a Tumi briefcase that works well with my suitcase, but the Rimowa is a far better suitcase than anything Tumi makes.
It depends upon what you want it for. If it's the only bag you carry then you'll want something as close as possible to 22 inches tall by 14 inches wide by 9 inches deep, which is the standard maximum for most carry on bags. Rimowa is a great bag but that's where they fall down. Their dimensions make them ill-suited for that. I've got a zero halliburton and love it. Just as solid and iconic as the Rimowa but better suited for packing everything into one bag. Yeah, they're expensive, but so is Rimowa. Overstock's got some great deals: Product Name
I agree with Art Leasure that the Rimowa Salsa does technically exceed the stated limits of some airlines, such as United, but never once has that stopped me from carrying it on. If you travel often enough to get status on an airline and can therefore board early, it's no problem at all and I think the Rimowa's perfect. If you aren't a regular traveler, a smaller suitcase would work better because when you board last, often times people with status have filled up the overheads with their big, nicer, suitcases.
16 Gallon Tank Luggage by Oakley → 16 Gallon Tank Luggage by Oakley
Oakley specializes in quality, period. No fancy barcode tracking tags, no prestigious name, no exotic materials, just durable and stylish products. I own one of these and can sneak this into the overhead bin with 5 days of wear and tear inside. The extension handle for rolling through the terminal is firm and sturdy. The ballistic fiber shell challenges you to pack the hotel TV without breaking one stitch. Totally worth the money and it's hard looks and design are enough to be in style for years to come.

Delsey Zip - lightweight, double-stop handle for easy rolling and stairway nagivatio, built-in TSA approved lock, and the best feature: hard-shell exterior. I think the hard shell gives sets it apart and looks great.
