far and way, nothing else is even close...not visiting an orphanage in kenya, or seeing my child for the first time, or playing my own music gigs, or being a sports anchor on live TV, or even celebrating 4 wonderful years of marriage...nothing compares to the commitment and life journey i've enjoyed with Christ for these past 12 years. sincerely and seriously unique (personal) and fulfilling.

I was a Volunteer Fire Fighter while I was in school. It was an amazing time in which I experienced unteachable life lessons that will always be with me. Getting the opportunity to help people in their most desperate of times while being an active part of the community is a great and rewarding feeling. Plus the adrenaline rush of running into a burning building is pretty cool...

I was a volunteer for the Peace Corps in Mali. Getting to know the people of Mali, learning about their culture and customs and lending a hand with small development projects was extremely rewarding. Something I would recommend doing at least once in your life.

One of the most fulfilling things I have done was completing a 27-mile hike in North Central Pennsylvania (Old Loggers Path) last November with a group of close friends over 3 days. Between the bonding that took place and the stories we went home with, I can say it was one of the most fun experiences I have. Carrying everything on your back, freezing your ass off around a fire eating peanut butter sandwiches, climbing "the pipeline" to make our own route, and the sight of fresh bear poop on the trail are all things I will never forget.

my boss told me to take my accumulated overtime and take a vacation (must admit... it had turned ridiculous with about 4 months and a direct heading for a massive burn out), so I did...

... bought myself a return ticket to Sydney, Australia. Once there I bought a car and started driving... about 4 months later I returned in Sydney and I had driven completely around the entire continent.

I can talk hours about that journey.... If you're interested, I have some pictures on flickr

It doesn't come close to donating a kidney, but that was a trip I truly feel good about....

I can relate to Marcus D. Jan. 09 I donated the left lobe of my liver to my son.

My son was born with a myriad of issues, namely Bilary Atresia. For a year we struggled with his health issues and balancing his life so that he could survive a transplant. Finally after a year things started to get really bad and he jumped to top of the national transplant list. Barely weighing enough to safely get a transplant we got the call, they had a cadaveric orgran (from Cali).

After 16 or so hours of surgery time, we finally had a chat with the surgeon... it wasn't good news. Ultimately his body rejected the organ and though they had already prepared me as a back-up. There is nothing on Earth that can prepare you for watching your own child die in front of you.
I was rushed into emergency surgery and now he is a healthy little toddler.

Sufficed to say, the most rewarding thing I will ever experience in life is giving my son a second chance at it.
