My wife hates prickley wiskers and she bought me some Craig's Beard & Stache Butter, works like a champ, and turned my ruffer than average beard into something thats actually soft and touchable. It doesn't take much, a small bottle will last quite a while. Of course, if your beard isn't extra corse or ruff everyday shampoo and conditioner that you use on your head will work on your beard.

Beard hair is the same as any other hair on your body - you can use normal conditioner on it - it just probably won't be good for your skin if you're prone to clogged pores.
My suggestion - basil oil - its good for healthy skin and hair. I use it for acne and use it in my hair - it makes my hair super sleek, shiny, and soft.
Check out Bluebeards Orginal products, I had great results with these. The shampoo is much milder than normal shampoo and doesn't dry out the skin underneath. The conditioner is a leave-in product that smells great and softens the hair beautifully. IMO much better than Craig's.

You can, and it likely wont hurt it but chances are the benefit may be minimal too.
Your best bet is skip the conditioner and find a product that has Jojoba Oil as it is a superb moisturizer and healer that has a strikingly similar composition to natural human oils which are essential to maintaining a healthy beard.
