I got a case from Working Class Hero (now Hard Craft) that is awesome. It is made from very thick, water repellant German felt and Austrian leather and it snaps to close. It has helped to keep my laptop scratch free. Plus it is nice and simple.
I have the Booq BOA Slimcase S90 and I absolutely LOVE it! It is a very slim and lightweight bag. It is amazing how much easier it is to carry my laptop around when I have a lighter bag. The Booq S90 is also very durable, professional looking, and can hold a surprising amount of stuff. I carry my laptop (perfect fit), the power adapter, the power extension cord, pens/pencils/etc, a magazine, around 50 sheets of paper, and some other random cables and still have plenty of room.
All of this while being fairly cool (in my opinion). I have owned a number of laptop bags and this is by far my favorite!
Another vote for Booq bags, but this time for the Taipan Slimcase S I've had it since the first week I got my MacBook, and couldn't be happier with it. It's really thin when carrying just the laptop and charger, but has enough room to carry a few smaller extra items (wallet, phone, iPod, Flip, etc.) if the need arises.

Thanks for the answers.
I ended up buying a Tumi Canyon Vertical Messenger Bag - a little on the expensive side but the quality is unbelievable. I also bought the Duffle Bag thanks to my bonus.

I have an Incase sleeve that I use for my new macbook. http://store.apple.com/us/product/TR632LL/A?fnode=MTY1NDA2Ng&mco=NDY3NDk2NA
Incase also makes a bag not much bigger than the sleeve if you need more storage and want a handle/strap. http://store.apple.com/us/product/TL996LL/A?fnode=MTY1NDA2Ng&mco=MjE0ODIxMg&p=1&s=topSellers
