Explora Patagonia Hotel

Given its name, you'd expect the Explora Patagonia Hotel to give you both a stay and an education on the surrounding lands. And this all-exclusive getaway doesn't disappoint. In addition to its 49 rooms, including six suites, the hotel offers over 50 different guided hikes and horseback rides for every level of experience, letting you explore both the Torres del Paine National Park and Lake Pehoé. To keep you properly fueled up, every dish they serve is designed to give you plenty of energy while warding off sluggishness, and is paired with a standout local wine. Should you feel the need to indulge, there's also the Explorer's Bar, as well as an on-site spa with a heated, covered pool, sauna, massage room, and four open-air jacuzzis for when it's time to relax and reflect.

  • Shark Aquarium Underwater Bedroom

You can't buy your way into a night in the Shark Aquarium Underwater Bedroom. That's okay, though, because if you write well enough you can stay there for free. A stay for two in this unique accommodation is being given to three lucky winners, and all you have to do is explain why you belong with the sharks for a night. As for the bedroom, it's submerged below the waters of the Aquarium de Paris' shark tank, where 35 of the fearsome fish roam, and holds a cylindrical bed, ideal for taking in the views from the 360-degree transparent wall. In addition to the accommodations, you'll also have dinner at the aquarium, get a private tour from world record-breaking freediver Fred Buyle, and, if you need it, receive round-trip airfare to and from Paris.

  • Ett Hem Hotel

Meaning "a home" in Swedish, the Ett Hem Hotel is a hidden gem not far from the center of Stockholm. Originally built as a private residence, the hotel now offers twelve rooms, each with its own charm thanks to help from interior designer Ilse Crawford, who picked an eclectic mix of art and furniture to complement the structure's inherent character. There's also a spacious courtyard garden that's like an oasis amongst the bustle of the city, a restaurant that uses the freshest local ingredients available and changes its menu daily to fit, and plenty of shared communal space where you can mingle with other guests or just relax by yourself with a glass of something tasty and a good book.
