  • Perch Speaker

2011 seems to be shaping up as the year of the wireless portable speaker, and the Perch Speaker ($180) looks to be one of the more stylish options out there. This two-piece speaker/dock features Bluetooth for wireless audio streaming, a magnetic charger built into the dock, which also sports a tray for charging your smartphone or media player, a built-in digital clock with alarm function, and an integrated microphone for speakerphone calls. Get in early to lock in the price - it'll rise to $200 once the first round of commitments is over.

  • Onkyo Classic Hi-Fi Components

Tired of the soulless LED screens of modern home theater and stereo components? Then you should enjoy the new line of Onkyo Classic Hi-Fi Components ($1,500-$2,500). Boasting features like separate digital and analog circuitry, 32-bit Burr-Brown DACs, AWRAT amplification design, and Onkyo's new Dynamic Intermodulation Distortion Reduction Circuitry (DIDRC) — meant to counteract high frequency interference — the new line includes the P-3000R preamp, the M-5000R power amplifier, and C-7000R CD player, and mixes the best of today's tech with looks that are straight out of the mid '80s.
