Ruggedness is a great thing to have in a phone, which is why the Casio G’zOne Boulder ($130) is such an intriguing device. It offers up a military specification-meeting, water-, shock-, and dust-resistant design, integrating outdoorsy features like an electronic compass, a flashlight, GPS, and push-to-talk capability. For in-town use, it's got some serious competition, but if you need a phone as rugged as Grizzly Adams' beard, it's a great choice.
