Continuing to push the boundaries between noise and music, Crystal Castles (II) by Crystal Castles ($10/CD; $8/MP3) finds the Toronto-based duo expanding without reinventing. Mixing solid 8-bit inspired dance tracks with even less coherent experimental jams, II is a little like a symphony conducted by a dot-matrix printer — only when you step back do the dots disappear and the message become clear. Bonus points for the creepy, indie horror flick cover art.
