Dodge Ram SRT-10

Dodge Ram SRT-10

Trucks have always been known for their utility, but only recently have we seen a push for performance in these beasts — and when it comes to performance, this truck is the tops. The Dodge Ram SRT-10 (starting at $47,000) boasts an engine stolen from a Dodge family member — specifically the 8.3 liter V-10 from the Viper that produces 500 horsepower and propels the SRT-10 from 0-60 in just a hair over 5 seconds. Other niceties include 22-inch wheels, a six-speed manual transmission with Hurst shifter, and an aluminum cover with a fixed spoiler. Haul people, haul cargo, or just haul ass.

  • Subaru B9 Tribeca

Subaru's new B9 Tribeca (starting at $30,700) seats up to seven passengers, offers ample performance and sports a modern aggressive look. The crossover sport utility vehicle has a 250-hp 3.0-liter boxer engine, symmetrical all-wheel drive, and an MP3 stereo system with an optional touch-screen GPS system and rear-seat DVD entertainment system package.

  • 2006 Range Rover Sport

Range Rovers aren’t exactly known as speed demons, but the Range Rover Sport (starts at $69,750) is doing all it can to change that image. Featuring a supercharged 4.2L V8 that’s good for 390 horsepower, the Sport manages a 0-60 time of 7.2 seconds, which isn’t bad for a vehicle that weighs nearly three tons. It also boasts 20 inch wheels, seats five, and can ford 27.6 inches of water. If Wile E. Coyote had been driving one of these, he may have actually caught the Road Runner — or at least looked stylish when he inevitably drove off a cliff.
