EpicWin

EpicWin

Do you spend more time leveling up your WoW or FF character than you do leveling up in real life? Perhaps it's time for EpicWin ($3). This nifty to-do app for iOS gives you XP for completing real-life chores and tasks, letting you improve both your real and virtual self at the same time. First items on the list? Clean up the stale Doritos from off the floor and take a damn shower, you filthy animal.

  • Weber's On the Grill for iPad

You've got the grill, the tools, the meat, and the rubs, but a measly five bucks and your iPad might get you the best grill companion you'll have all summer. Weber's On the Grill for iPad ($5; iPhone version also available) is a virtual grill companion app, offering a searchable database of over 250 classic recipes, instructions on making 40 rubs, marinades, and sauces, a grocery list, how-to videos, an integrated grill timer, and the ability to note each recipe when you find that "secret ingredient" that makes your BBQ stand out from the rest. (Hint: most often it's booze.)

  • Hulu Plus

Finally, you can watch Hulu on your TV, iPhone, or iPad — so long as you're willing to pay for it. Hulu Plus ($10) is a new ad-supported subscription service from the online video house that lets users watch a huge number of shows — including current season episodes of shows like 30 Rock, Modern Family, and Family Guy, as well as the entire run of classics like The X-Files, Arrested Development, and Miami Vice — in streaming 720p HD on a wide range of devices, including Internet-enabled TVs and Blu-ray players from Samsung and Sony, the PS3, the Xbox 360, and, of course, Apple's iDevices.
