Ford Atlas Pickup Concept

It might be "just a concept", but when Ford says they see the Ford Atlas Pickup Concept ($TBA) as the future of pickup trucks, you can rest assured you'll see most of the features on future F-150s. At first glance, the exterior styling looks quite similar to the company's current offerings, but look closely and you'll find features like active grille shutters, active wheel shutters, power running boards, and a drop-down front air dam, all of which help improve aerodynamics at highway speeds while maintaining maximum utility. Other features include a next-gen EcoBoost powertrain, LED headlamps, taillamps, cargo box and side mirror lighting, hidden cargo ramps, dynamic hitch assist, and a 360-degree Point-of-View camera to help position the vehicle in tight places. If only they'd actually make the damn thing.

    It's okay to drool. Created by the guys behind the crazy-awesome Ford Broncos with help from Banks Power, the Icon D200 ($TBA) combines modern technology with the look of Dodge's landmark 1965 crew cab truck. Thanks to new Dodge 3500 chassis and mechanical systems, the D200 is ready to handle the raw brawn of the 5.9 L Cummins engine that provides it with an insane 975 lbs. of torque. Other features include a Six-Gun diesel tuner, a Monster Ram intake manifold, a dual exhaust, a Banks Brake exhaust braking system, a 4.5-inch Baja 1000 Chase lift kit with Fox shocks, custom audio, and an interior featuring free-range American Indian Reservation bison leather. Expect to see it at SEMA 2012, but no word on whether you'll ever be able to buy one.

  • Lexus LF-LC Blue Concept

    Last time we saw the LF-LC Concept, it was red, and details were scant. The Lexus LF-LC Blue Concept ($TBA) is the next step forwards for this radical four-seat coupe, as we can now tell you that it's powered by an Advanced Lexus Hybrid Drive that pairs an Atkinson cycle combustion engine with a high-energy battery pack for 500 hp — and plenty of speed — and that the interior boasts twin 12.3-inch LCD screens for info and navigation display that are operated by a touch screen control board. Unfortunately, as with its predecessor, you can expect to see it in a garage near you approximately never.
