The just-announced Fujifilm FinePix F50fd ($300; Sept. 07) packs 12-megapixels and a 7th Generation Super CCD into a super-compact steel body. The camera also offers a 3.0x optical zoom, 2.7-inch high-resolution LCD, Dual Image Stabilization, Face Detection 2.0 technology, and ISO settings of up to ISO 6400. [via]

    Pocket cams continue to offer ever higher resolutions, and that trend doesn't stop with the 12.1-megapixel Casio Exilim EX-Z1200 ($TBA). In addition to the super-high resolution, the camera also offers CCD-shift image stabilization, the Exilim Engine 2.0 image processing module that can detect moving objects and set the shutter and ISO accordingly, and a 2.8-inch LCD display.

Other features include a 24p Cine Mode, Super Range Optical Image Stabilization, and Canon's proprietary DIGIC DV II HD Image Processor.
