Gibson Robot Guitar

Gibson Robot Guitar

With the rate of technology adoption ever increasing, it's a wonder we haven't seen this already. The Gibson Robot Guitar ($TBA; Dec. 7) carries the tagline "All you have to do is play it." With a revolutionary mix of on-board processing, a data transmitting tailpiece, tune-control bridge, and Powerhead Locking Tuners, the guitar automatically stays in tune, and can move to an alternate tuning with the turn of a switch. So really, all you have to do is play. [Thanks, Zach]

  • Replug

"MagSafe for your headphones." Okay, so that's not really the slogan for Replug ($TBA; Fall 2007), but users of any recent Mac laptop will certainly see the similarity. Replug transforms any standard 3.5mm audio jack into a breakaway connection, protecting the jack from undue stress, and allowing the cord to simply detach when pulled, which can also keep your audio source form ending up on the floor. • DIY Music Box Kit

Not satisfied with the lame songs available in music boxes? Make your own using the DIY Music Box Kit ($16). It includes blank music paper, a hole punch, the player, and detailed instructions on how to punch the sheets so it'll play your (or the recipient's) favorite tune.
