Filled with beautifully told historic details about our country's birth and the man responsible for much of it, John Adams ($60) is a 7-part, theater-quality miniseries from HBO that quickly made us forget about the end of The Wire. The biopic is three episodes in so far and has already shown what an extraordinary life Adams lived, keeping us interested like Mr. Hall never could. Paul Giamatti in the title role is, as expected, superb. Freedom. Liberty. DVD.
