Lapinator

We thought we had already covered all of the essential MacBook accessories. We were wrong. After about a month, we finally got sick of having to shove magazines under our MacBooks just so we could use them on our lap. (Yes, the MacBook gets insanely hot — so hot that it will literally burn your legs.) Enter the Lapinator — the accessory every MacBook owner should have. It's available in two models — the 13" Lapinator ($25) and 18" Lapinator Plus ($30) — and acts as a thermal barrier between the MacBook and your legs thanks to a combination of 3M Thinsulate and a cross-linked molded foam bottom. The surface seems to help keep the MacBook running a bit cooler, and also comes with stick-on bumpers to raise the back of the laptop for better airflow. The Lapinator is also super light and comfy, and can easily be taken with you in your bag (can you say Steve Jobs keynote?). If you plan to use your MacBook anywhere besides a desk, we can't recommend the Lapinator enough. Now if we can just do something about that name...
