Leatherman Freestyle
Finally, a modern Leatherman multi-tool that you'll actually want to carry every day. Based on the popular Skeletool, the Leatherman Freestyle ($36-$48; May 09) is a compact, lightweight pocket tool with just the essentials — a knife (with an outside-accessible blade) and pliers (with wire cutters). The small but powerful multi-tool folds up to be about the size of a pack of gum, weighs in at only 4.5 ounces, and comes in two models — the Freestyle with 420HC straight/serrated combo blade and the Freestyle CX with 154CM straight blade. Both have stainless steel bodies with Zytel or carbon fiber (CX) handle inserts.
