Say what you will about expensive jeans — they may look great, be the most comfortable pair you’ve ever put on, and look perfect with your favorite shirt, but if all you’ve got is a plain brown belt you bought in ‘93 to wear with them, your chances of getting laid are going to be just as low as if you had on a pair of Wrangler nut-huggers.
