diesel-commando-cap.jpg

Diesel New Commando Cap

You can't go wrong with a cadet-style knit cap like this one. Available in brown or black, the Diesel New Commando Cap ($40) has a contrast stripe and embroidered Diesel logo across the front.

blue-faucet-light.jpg

Blue Faucet Light

We've covered some cool faucets and sinks before, but we've never found a way to spruce up your existing setup with this much ease. The Blue Faucet Light ($15) installs quickly on most normal faucets, adding a cool blue color to the stream of water coming out the end. Although it won't make your tap water taste any better, at least it will look better coming out.

stainless-steel-concrete-ring.jpg

Stainless Steel and Concrete Ring

A lot of guys don't like the idea of wearing rings for fashion — they think that it might somehow make them "girly." Well, there's nothing "girly" about this ring. The Stainless Steel and Concrete Ring ($170) keeps it real manly with a wide, thick stainless band that has a core inlay of concrete. Wear this, and display your man ring with pride. [Thanks, Jason]

v-moda-vibe.jpg

V-Moda Vibe Earphones

Whether you use them with your iPod or Zune, the V-Moda Vibe Earphones ($101) will grab all of the attention. The noise-isolating earphones feature an elegant, lightweight design sculpted from alloy metal. In our sound tests, we were surprised to find that the Vibes rank right up there with Etymotic and Shure earphones we've used. Great bass, mid-range and highs. The earphones come in a leather pouch with three sizes of ultra-soft silicon fittings to fit any ear.

the-bargainist.jpg

The Bargainist

Just in time for Black Friday, Dejarik Media, the publisher of Uncrate, has launched The Bargainist. As you can probably tell by the name, the site digs up the best deals, sales and coupons and posts them daily. Hop on over check it out. And just like Uncrate, be sure to send in your tips if you find something cool on sale or something hella cheap.

lego-ice-cube-tray.jpg

Lego Housewares

You guys sure know what we like. We've gotten approximately 1,256 emails telling us about this awesome Lego Ice Cube Tray ($8). And every fun-loving man should definitely have a couple. But while at Lego's online store, we also spotted the Lego Corkscrew & Bottle Opener Set ($15), the Lego Coaster Set ($13), and the Lego Salt & Pepper Set ($5).

darth-vader-mimobot.jpg

Darth Vader Mimobot USB Flash Drive

We've been fans of Mimobots for some time now, and anytime that you take something that's already cool and add Star Wars licensing, it only gets better. The Darth Vader Mimobot USB Flash Drive ($80-$170; Jan. 07) is available for pre-order now in one of three capacities (1GB, 2GB, and 4GB) and is only the first in a series of Star Wars-themed Mimobots. Limited to a run of only 3500, these are sure to sellout quickly, so if you want to have a Sith guarding your data, you'd better hurry. [via]

viewsonic-viewdock-display.jpg

ViewSonic ViewDock LCD Displays

You can pretty much buy anything with a built-in iPod dock these days. Most don't make much sense, but we can actually see these displays being useful, allowing us to strip one more device away from our desk. ViewSonic's ViewDock LCD displays ($330-$450) — available in 19-inch and 22-inch sizes — integrate a universal iPod dock for quickly connecting your iPod and watching videos or listening to music from it. To complete the all-in-oneness, the displays also sport four USB 2.0 ports, an 8-in-1 card reader, a microphone, stereo speakers and a subwoofer.

dnd-chess-set.jpg

D&D Chess Set

Hark back to the days of your d20 childhood with the D&D Chess Set ($200). This premium-quality chess set will have you remembering the name of your favorite elf lass from a long night of role playing as you play the side of the Good or Evil Dragons in the ultimate classic strategy game. Classic D&D dragons are highly detailed in the playing pieces which move atop a chessboard crafted in a walnut finish. Variations on the rules of chess give this collector's set an even greater D&D feel.

western-digital-my-book.jpg

Western Digital My Book Pro Edition II

As the years go on, we just keep collecting more and more porn digital music, videos and financial files. Before you know it, you'll be outgrowing that 250GB external hard drive you bought last year. Get ahead of the game with Western Digital's new My Book Pro Edition II ($550). The sleek silver storage system gives you room for 1-terabyte (1,000 gigabytes) of data and comes with backup and recovery software. The My Book Pro Edition II sports FireWire 800, FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 interfaces and works with PCs and Macs.

logitech-dinovo-edge.jpg

Logitech diNovo Edge Keyboard

We've long been fans of Logitech's computer peripherals, and their latest is quite a looker. The Logitech diNovo Edge Keyboard ($200; Nov.) is created from a single piece of black Plexiglas that is set into a brushed-aluminum frame. The keyboard features touch-sensitive volume, pointer, and scrolling controls, and function icons that appear when you need them and disappear when you don't. Add to that Bluetooth, a rechargeable battery that can go up to two months on one charge, and Logitech's PerfectStroke key system, and you have a nearly-perfect keyboard for use in the den, office, or living room.

the-killers-sams-town.jpg

Sam's Town by The Killers

It's definitely no Hot Fuss, and definitely not "the best album in the past 20 years" as cocky frontman Brandon Flowers claims, but the second album from The Killers is still better than most efforts to come out this year. Since we only got our hands on Sam's Town ($10; Oct. 3) two days ago, we may still end up loving it as much as we did their first disc, but either way, the new album is vastly interesting, fresh, intricate, dark, and strangely catchy in a Bruce Springsteen kind of way. Standout tracks: "When You Were Young" and "Bones." Win it! We've got a couple of Sam's Town CDs and exclusive Killers vinyl remix discs to give away. We'll pick three winners at random from those who link to us, sign up for our newsletter or send in a product suggestion.

audi-r8.jpg

Audi R8

Wow. The 2008 R8 ($TBA; Q2 2007) is Audi's first mid-engine sports cars, packing a high-revving V8 engine that's good for 420 horsepower, in addition to all-wheel drive and the sexiest styling we've seen in a very long time. Built on the Lamborghini Gallardo platform, the R8 also features Xenon plus lights, LED rear lights, 18-inch aluminum wheels, an audio system with 7-inch monitor, and Leather/Alcantara seats inside a super modern cockpit. Our favorite feature though is the LEDs used in the engine bay to make the R8's beastly V8 visible even at night. [via]

myvu-made-for-ipod.jpg

Myvu

It's great that newer iPods can play video as well as audio, but for anything longer than a short film, that small screen can be a liability. MicroOptical is trying to remedy the situation with their new Myvu Made For iPod Edition ($400; Fall). The personal media viewer looks like something from Star Trek, but it makes for a viewing experience that's like watching a 27-inch screen from six feet away. Other features include integrated earbuds, a carrying case that fits both the Myvu and the iPod, and a six hour battery that can be recharged at home or in the car.

space-invaders-wrapping-paper.jpg

Space Invaders Wrapping Paper

With the holiday buying season quickly approaching, it's always a good idea to start planning ahead. This year, we're giving our favorite folks gifts wrapped in Space Invaders Wrapping Paper ($5). Featuring a complementing combo of orange and brown backgrounds, the sheets are populated with pixelated baddies from year's past. Oh, and don't forget to label your gifts with the matching Space Invader Stickers ($1). [via]

new-ipod-shuffle.jpg

New iPod shuffle

Completely redesigned, the New iPod shuffle ($80) features an all-new aluminum enclosure that is so small, it takes the title of "smallest MP3 player in the world." The New shuffle includes a new, diminutive dock and a built-in clip to attach the player to jeans, a shirt, or a bag. Also included is 1GB of storage space, twice that of the previous entry-level shuffle, and the ubiquitous white headphones. While not for everyone, if you're looking to upgrade an older 512MB shuffle or just looking for a second iPod to use at the gym, you won't be disappointed.

stewart-colbert-shirt.jpg

Stewart/Colbert '08 T-Shirt

Show your support for the fake news party with this awesome Stewart/Colbert '08 T-Shirt ($18). Democrats, Repulicans, greenies, crazy church people... they're all the same. But having Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert running the country? Oh yeah, we'd once again be proud to be born and raised in the USA. Come on, you know the world would be a much better place with Truthiness leading the way.

24-inch-imac.jpg

24-inch iMac

For those of you craving more screen real estate, Apple today announced a new iMac with a huge 24-inch widescreen display (1920x1200 resolution) that offers 30% more work area than the 20-inch model. The big daddy iMac ($2,000) also features a 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT graphics with 128MB memory, and a SuperDrive for burning CDs and DVDs. Like the previous iMacs, the 24-inch model also sports a built-in iSight video camera, WiFi and Bluetooth, Apple's Front Row media software, and the iLife '06 suite.

pony-bosi.jpg

Pony Bosi

Velcro doesn't get the credit it deserves. It can be found on almost anything, but our favorite applications are always on shoes. The Pony Bosi ($70) features great modern styling, with criss-crossing Velcro straps that take you back to the days before putting on your shoes had gotten so complicated it required these dumb things called "laces." A solid rubber sole and EVA midsole keep your foot comfortable and will hold the shoes together through plenty of playground-esque antics. [Thanks, Ash!]

eyetv-hybrid.jpg

EyeTV Hybrid

We've been fans of Elgato ever since they came out with the original EyeTV — and their products keep getting better. The latest is the EyeTV Hybrid ($150), a simple, USB 2.0 dongle-style device that allows you to watch and record analog, digital, and (with the right Mac) HDTV. It has a standard coaxial connector, as well as a break-out cable for connecting composite, S-Video, and audio from other sources such as cable set-top boxes. Add in Elgato's excellent EyeTV 2 recording software, and you have one of the slickest, most affordable video solutions on the market. [Thanks, Jesse!]

poketo-postal-service-walle.jpg

Poketo Postal Service Wallet

When you have a cool company like Poketo joining with an even cooler band like the Postal Service, you can end up with some great products — like this Postal Service Wallet by Susie Ghahremani ($20). The outside features a great drawing of a tambourine bird, the sky, and what looks to be a polka-dot sea, while the interior reverses the polka-dot pattern on the front. Of course it also features three card slots, a bill slot, and a change purse — and, mercifully, doesn't play "Such Great Heights" every time you open your wallet. [Thanks, Robert!]

ava-macbeth.jpg

Special Edition AVA Macbeth Bonham

Win it!We're big fans of Angels & Airwaves, the new band fronted by Blink 182's Tom DeLonge. We're also big fans of these special edition AVA Macbeth Bonham sneakers ($100). Made just for the band by the style pros at Macbeth, the shoes feature an ultra-premium leather upper and come with a signature AVA box and metal tag. And if you dig 'em too, you'll be stoked to hear that we're giving away a pair in any size to one lucky reader. We've also got a handful of AVA's debut album "We Don't Need To Whisper" for some runner-up prizes. To be entered to win, just send in a product suggestion or give us a shout out on your blog. We'll pick the winners randomly and contact you as long as you've provided your correct email address. Be sure to check out Macbeth and AVA. Update: We have a winner!

lapinator.jpg

Lapinator

We thought we had already covered all of the essential MacBook accessories. We were wrong. After about a month, we finally got sick of having to shove magazines under our MacBooks just so we could use them on our lap. (Yes, the MacBook gets insanely hot — so hot that it will literally burn your legs.) Enter the Lapinator — the accessory every MacBook owner should have. It's available in two models — the 13" Lapinator ($25) and 18" Lapinator Plus ($30) — and acts as a thermal barrier between the MacBook and your legs thanks to a combination of 3M Thinsulate and a cross-linked molded foam bottom. The surface seems to help keep the MacBook running a bit cooler, and also comes with stick-on bumpers to raise the back of the laptop for better airflow. The Lapinator is also super light and comfy, and can easily be taken with you in your bag (can you say Steve Jobs keynote?). If you plan to use your MacBook anywhere besides a desk, we can't recommend the Lapinator enough. Now if we can just do something about that name...

monster-laptop-sleeve.jpg

Monster Laptop Sleeve

While standard laptop cases are nice-looking and generally protective of your computer, they are, unfortunately, easy to spot — for you, and for thieves. With this in mind we checked out the whimsical Monster Laptop Sleeve ($65). Handmade and available in four different colors, the case reminds us of a fanged cousin of cookie monster. Plus, it looks more like something that would hold a Fisher-Price computer, as opposed to a Sony or Apple — keeping would-be thieves guessing. [via]

envelope-mailbox.jpg

Envelope Mailbox

This stainless steel mailbox has an awesome geek-vibe thanks to a computer icon-like frosted envelope design on the front. The wall-mount Envelope Mailbox ($68) from Chiasso has a lock for keeping your mail safe and a dedicated tube to hold newspapers and magazines. Overall, just really, really cool.

dyson-dc14-animal.jpg

Dyson DC14 Animal Vacuum

Dyson's vacuums have earned nearly unanimous praise for their floor-cleaning prowess, but we were surprised to find that they make a model with a specific group in mind: Pet owners. The Dyson DC14 Animal Vacuum ($550) features the Root Cyclone constant suction system, automatic carpet height adjustment, a wand attachment that releases and expands up to 17 feet, and the unique advanced turbine head that cleans pet hair from confined spaces with all the fury that it uses to handle your floors. You can officially say goodbye to that cat hair-covered couch.

sony-mylo-communicator.jpg

Sony Mylo Personal Communicator

Although we'll probably never give up our iPods for a jack-of-all-trades device, the Sony Mylo Personal Communicator ($350; Sept. 06) makes quite an argument. It features a 2.4 inch color screen, a slide out querty keyboard, and offers 1GB of flash storage for MP3, ATRAC, and WMA music playback. The real draw here, however, is the device's Wi-Fi capabilities, offering access to the web, Gmail and Yahoo Mail, instant messaging services, and has Skype communicator software pre-installed. A small, sleek device that provides easy (and free) access to all this sure is tempting.

fossil-red-eye.jpg

Fossil Red Eye Watch

Watches don't have to cost you your life savings. The Fossil Red Eye ($65) is an affordable cuff-style watch from Fossil that would be great for everyday, casual use (don't try it with the office suit). It features a brown leather strap with red burnished stripe, a red degrade dial with three hand quartz movement, and a brushed stainless steel case.

mac-pro.jpg

Mac Pro

Apple's transition to Intel is now complete, thanks to the new Mac Pro ($2500). Ready to gobble up data as fast as you can send it, the standard model features 2 Dual-Core Intel Xeon processors running at 2.66 GHz, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, 250GB Hard Drive, and a 16x SuperDrive — but don't worry if that's not enough for you: Build To Order options include dual 3.0 GHz processors, 16GB of RAM, and a whopping 2TB of internal hard drive space. All in all, there are close to 5 million configurations. Inputs and outputs include FireWire 400, FireWire 800 and USB 2.0 ports on both the front and back. While the Mac Pro is going to be blazing fast now, we're already dreaming of running Mac OS X Leopard on it next spring, hopefully hooked up to one of Apple's 30-inch Cinema Displays ($2000).

podbrix-1984-playset.jpg

PodBrix 1984 Playset

Being the Mac fans that we are, we've been patiently waiting for PodBrix to release another Apple-inspired Lego creation. The PodBrix 1984 Playset ($200; Aug. 2) is the artist's latest and most ambitious set yet. Inspired by the classic "1984" Super Bowl ad that introduced the Macintosh, the set contains 15 figures in all, including a detailed "runner" figure, 2 riot police figures, and 12 audience members. It also features an LED backlit movie screen displaying a "Big Brother" figure. If you think this is as sweet as we do, get ready to pony-up the cash tomorrow — there's only 100 available. [via]

mr-p-cord-organizer.jpg

Mr. P Cord Organizer

Our old friend Mr. P is back again, this time trying desperately to keep your snaking, tangled cords in check — and to satisfy his bondage fetish at the same time. The Mr. P One Man Tied Cord Organizer ($12) is four inches tall and available in both white and orange, so he can be useful in any part of the house — or just use a whole army of them to keep track of cords in the office or by the home theater. [Thanks, Lee]

weeds-s1.jpg

Weeds - Season One

Ah, pot. It's kinda like watching American Idol or drunk-dialing your ex — nearly everyone does it every once in a while, but no one likes to talk about it. Weeds - Season One ($28) is a story about a widowed suburban housewife who turns to selling the greens to make ends meet, and — surprise — everyone in the neighborhood, including a terrific Kevin Nealon as a city councilman, wants to be a customer. We'd never leave our beloved HBO, but with shows like Weeds, at least Showtime is making a case for having both channels.

samsung-a640.jpg

Samsung A640

With their growing line of excellent electronics such as TVs and video components, Samsung's list of desirable items gets longer and longer — and now they've got a new phone to add to it. The Samsung A640 ($200) operates on Sprint's network, and features a 128x160 main screen, a 80x64 OLED outer screen, the requisite VGA camera, Bluetooth, and compatibility with Sprint's Ready Link service. The sleek black front is complemented by the OLED outer screen, which keeps its background black to match the rest of the phone, making this one of the best looking Sprint phones out there. [via]

entourage-dvds.jpg

Entourage - The Complete First Two Seasons

We became instant fans of Entourage about five minutes into the pilot back in 2004. We've dutifully watched every episode since, but somehow forgot to mention the DVDs here on Uncrate. This Entourage DVD set ($53) has all 22 episodes of the first two seasons packaged up nicely for your HBO-less ass. The set also has behind-the-scenes interviews with cast and crew, so you can be sure to get to know the real Eric, Turtle, Drama, Vince, and Ari.

firefox-messenger-bag.jpg

Firefox Ogio Messenger Bag

This bag does two things — carries your gadgets in style and shows your love for everyone's favorite open-source web browser. The Firefox Ogio Messenger Bag ($60) offers great urban styling with a dash of geek cred, featuring an embroidered Firefox logo, a padded laptop sleeve (fits up to a 17-incher), iPod and cell phone pockets, airline ticket sleeve, and several other compartments. Down with IE.

mimoco-magma.jpg

Magma Mimobot

Mimobots ($70-$190) are tiny USB flash memory creatures that let you store essential files like photos, music, presenations and more. Available in 256MB, 512MB, 1GB, and 2GB sizes, the Mimobots are pefect for when you need to take some data with you to another computer — just drag some data to one of them, like Magma here, and pop him in your pocket and go. They work with both Macs and PCs, and double as a cool little toy for your boring cubicle when not in use.
