While most things have advanced along with technology over the ages, the frame has stayed very much the same — typically a square or rectange of some solid material inside which one places an artwork that's the same size as the opening, or the same size as another piece of material placed in the opening. The OpenFrame ($35 and up) is looking to do away with all that. Constructed from birch plywood, birch veneer, and stainless steel, these smart frames use rare earth magnets to hold your artwork to the frame. They come in three different sizes and your choice of finish — natural, black, or white — so there's sure to be one that suits whatever it is you want hanging. Even better, the magnets allow for easy removal, so making sure your decor doesn't become stale is as simple as swapping out the art.
