Pontiac G8 Sport Truck (El Camino)

Pontiac G8 Sport Truck (El Camino)

It's a little early for an April Fool's Day joke, so we're going to go ahead and report on the surprisingly cool 2010 Pontiac G8 Sport Truck ($TBA). First things first — we're going to have to do something about that name. This is the next generation El Camino. Period. So let's make it official. Pontiac has set up a site for guys to submit naming ideas. Like our compatriots at Jalopnik, we are officially supporting the El Camino moniker. So click on over and tell Pontiac what this thing is going to be called. Ok, back to the new truck-car. The 2010 El Camino, based on the Pontiac G8 GT sedan, will feature a 361-hp 6.0-liter V8 (good for a 0-60 time of 5.4 seconds) and can handle up to a 1,300-pound payload and tow up to a 3,500-pound trailer. Extras include 18-inch wheels, four-wheel independent suspension with electronic stability control, and a 230-watt Blaupunkt AM/FM/six-disc CD changer with MP3 integration. [More Photos]
