Prometheus
Not every prequel has to sully the fine name of its predecessors. In Prometheus ($25), Ridley Scott returns to the universe of Alien, tackling some big themes while dishing out plenty of sci-fi suspense. Solid performances from Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender help keep things moving along, and don't worry if you have unanswered questions at the end — Scott and writer Damon Lindelof have hinted that a sequel might be in the works.
