His second album in the last two years but also his second original work since 2004, Recovery by Eminem ($10) finds Mr. Mathers continuing his search for a sound and voice that's still relevant after the lengthy hiatus that followed Encore. Still not all the way there, Em does more experimenting on this effort, bringing in a slew of new production partners, as well as adding a dose of estrogen with tracks featuring Pink and Rihanna. He might still be lost, but at least on Recovery, rap's angry white hope sounds like he knows which direction to head.
