It's definitely no Hot Fuss, and definitely not "the best album in the past 20 years" as cocky frontman Brandon Flowers claims, but the second album from The Killers is still better than most efforts to come out this year. Since we only got our hands on Sam's Town ($10; Oct. 3) two days ago, we may still end up loving it as much as we did their first disc, but either way, the new album is vastly interesting, fresh, intricate, dark, and strangely catchy in a Bruce Springsteen kind of way. Standout tracks: "When You Were Young" and "Bones."

We've got a couple of Sam's Town CDs and exclusive Killers vinyl remix discs to give away. We'll pick three winners at random from those who link to us, sign up for our newsletter or send in a product suggestion.
