After weeks of hype and speculation caused over cryptic marketing for Microsoft's Origami project, the first device using the mobile platform has finally been announced. Samsung's Q1 ($TBA) is a paperback-book sized portable computer that features Windows XP, a 7-inch touch-screen LCD, 40GB hard drive, a mobile Intel Celeron processor, 512MB of RAM, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. The Q1 also offers the innovative Origami Touch Pack interface, which consists of on-screen circular keyboards laid out near the users' two thumbs. The device weighs less than 2 pounds, is about 1-inch thick, and will be released alongside add-ons for GPS, digital TV and more. As more and more public places get Wi-Fi, we could definitely see ourselves packing one these everyt ime we leave the house.
