The Sony DCR-DVD403 ($770) is the first DVD camcorder that lets you record in Dolby Digital 5.1 channel surround sound with a built-in microphone. In addition to capturing sharp digital video directly to DVD, the camcorder takes excellent still pics. The DCR-DVD403 comes with a Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T lens, 3.3 Megapixel Advanced HAD CCD imager, built-in flash, Super NightShot Infrared System, and a 2.7" LCD.
