"Even when we used to take drugs" says a line from "Between The Lines," the opening track on Stone Temple Pilots ($10). The band's first studio album in nearly a decade, it's business as usual — minus the aforementioned chemicals — for STP on this eponymous effort, with more grungy-rock, a slight '60s vibe, lyrics that bounce from dense to straightforward, and some soaring vocals courtesy of Weiland. Sometimes it's nice to hear from old friends.
