When TaylorMade's R9 460 driver debuted, a lot of people were left wondering why the company's breakthrough Movable Weight Technology didn't appear on the gargantuan club — as it turns out, the company couldn't cut enough weight out of the 460cc head to allow both its MWT and Flight Control Technology to fit inside. Now it can. The TaylorMade R9 SuperTri Driver ($400; February 19) features a long-hitting trifecta of Movable Weight Technology, Flight Control Technology, and an oversized 460cc head, giving golfers a club that's more forgiving, yet longer and more versatile. Other key features include Inverted Cone Technology for more distance on off-center hits, a Fujikura Motore 60-gram shaft that makes it easier to get the ball up in the air and spinning for longer carry, and a more aerodynamic head for increased club head speed.
