You may know Rhett Miller as the lead singer for the Old 97’s, but he also has the chops for a solo career — as seen on his second solo album, The Believer ($13; February 28). Featuring studio assistance from Jon Brion and the Jayhawk’s Gary Louris, the album also features an appearance by up-and-comer Rachel Yamagata. Miller himself describes the album as songs about “sex, war, love, and death… but mostly sex,” and that’s fine with us. Standout Tracks: “Fireflies,” “Question.”
