The Last Stop: Vanishing Rest Stops of the American Roadside is filled with images of these once ubiquitous symbols of American freedom. The photos come from Ryann Ford, who spent years on the road documenting these rapidly disappearing artifacts before they're gone forever. Featuring hundreds of quirky rest stops spread across 20 states, it's a fitting tribute to these relics of a time when air travel was a true luxury and the cross-country road trip was part of the culture, instead of a premise for comedy movies.
