Whatever your feelings about Tom Cruise's personal life, the man can act, and does so well as Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg in Valkyrie ($16-$28). Based on real-life events and directed by Bryan Singer, Valkyrie chronicles the failed attempt to assassinate Hitler near the end of World War II. Packing performances from Kenneth Branagh, Terence Stamp, Tom Wilkinson, Bill Nighy and Eddie Izzard, as well, it's a fine war-time suspense flick.
