The Cold War wasn't just a battle between East and West, communism and capitalism, and amassing stockpiles of nuclear weapons — it was a battle for coins at the arcade. The Soviet approach to arcade games was more than just entertainment, however. Soviet arcade games were designed with training the next generation of heroes of Communist labor. Made from things like repurposed refrigerators and calculators, these 80s arcade games were meant to prepare young people for war.
