019 Cabin
Sitting lightly on the land in Lithuania, the 019 Cabin will leave its lake island just as quietly as it came. The cozy retreat utilizes a modular design made from individual components that were constructed off-site. Completely transportable, it was then brought to the property and placed on a foundation of slender metal legs. It's topped by a floating roof designed to protect the building from the sun while also collecting rainwater. Although compact, its 250-square-foot interior contains two double bedrooms, a living area, kitchen, and bathroom lined in warm, natural plywood. Modular furniture allows the rooms to be multi-functional and make the most of the modest footprint. To remain connected to the surrounding landscape, a folding glass door expands the living spaces out to a terrace overlooking the neighboring lake.
