111 West 57th Street

After eight years of construction, 111 West 57th Street is complete. The project combines the historic Steinway Hall and a 1,428-foot tower to create a modern landmark overlooking Central Park. Designed by SHoP Architects, the original 1925 building that once housed the Steinway & Sons piano company acts as the base and now houses 14 luxury residences. The adjacent tower features a height-to-width ratio of 24:1, making it the skinniest skyscraper in the world, and offers additional homes for a total of 60. As an ode to the golden age of the Manhattan skyline, the exterior is clad in custom-cast terra cotta, bronze, and glass, while the interiors preserve the building's historic character. Amenities include the King Cole Bar, an 82-foot swimming pool, and lavish in-house services.
