1987 Lynx Jaguar XJ-S V12 by Gucci

The Jaguar XJ-S was designed as a Continent-crossing grad tourer, capable of trips at high speeds with luxurious appointments. The car was a success, becoming Jaguar's longest-produced model, from 1975-1996. Coachbuilder Lynx took on the task of turning the XJ-S into a shooting brake, called the Eventer, and Gucci vice-president Paolo Gucci of the Gucci fashion empire asked Lynx to develop a model that would include a matching set of Gucci luggage. The result is the car pictured here — although legal issues within the Gucci business would lead to Gucci branding being removed. A production run of 20 vehicles was canceled, making this the only example in the world. The car was bought in 2015 by Jaguar enthusiast Ian Berg, who contacted two people involved in the creation of the Gucci Eventer. The car was completely stripped and restored, with the original interior retained. The car has covered just a few hundred miles since the restoration and will be auctioned at Bonham's Goodwood event in England.
