Influenced by LA's Case Study homes and the work of Joseph Eichler, the Avocado Acres House is an environmentally-friendly mid-century throwback located just blocks from the California coast. Its dining, kitchen, and living areas are open to both each other and the central courtyard, made more dramatic by the sloped roof and semi-circular cutout. On the other side lies the master bedroom with ensuite, while the home's other two bedrooms share a bath and are located down the adjoining hallway. Natural wood ceilings, floors, and cabinets help offset the industrial feel of the bare concrete walls, and plentiful glazing lets in natural light while helping to merge the interior with the outside.
