Comprised of 28 triangular units, the Taft House is a geometric prefab in Portland. The base of the home is a single 100-square-foot triangle. Built offsite, the individual modules were stacked together like building blocks to form a three-story family dwelling. Its sharp angles are clad in black cedar planks. The interior is a bright contrast with white walls, bamboo floors, and loads of sunlight from floor-ceiling windows. A honeycomb pattern stretches across the ceiling, a theme that can be found throughout the home in the bathroom tile and the central staircase.
