Tesla Model S P85D

FIRST SEEN IN UNCRATE MAGAZINE Insane doesn't just describe this electric vehicle — that's the actual name of its performance mode. Tap "Insane" on the Tesla's 17-inch touchscreen, and you have access to frightening acceleration, with its dual motors silently propelling the sedan from 0-60 in a mere 3.1 seconds. For reference, that's faster than the Porsche 911 GT3, the Audi R8, and the McLaren F1. Obviously, the lack of an engine doesn't hurt its speed, and thanks to the heavy, under-floor battery pack, the all-wheel drive Tesla has an amazingly low center of gravity that makes the driving experience less like a car and more like a go kart. Besides the touchscreen, it's got an otherwise spartan interior, free of a transmission humps (since it doesn't have a transmission). The key fob, which looks like a toy Model S, lets you do things like pop the trunks or open the sunroof, just by tapping on the corresponding spot. If you hand over control, the Tesla's cameras, radars, and sonars can take over the driving, and should they ever falter, you can rest assured that it has the highest safety rating of any vehicle in America. Of course, you also get a driving range of 253 miles, which is every bit as impressive as anything else this car does.

  • 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat

When you think of a sedan, the first image that comes to mind is typically a tame four-door you'd see in the parking lot at the local grocery — not a mean muscle car capable of tearing up streets and race courses. But if you expect anything less than the latter from the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, you'd be sorely mistaken. Outfitted with a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V8 capable of 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, this monster will pull zero to 100, and then stop again, all in under 13 seconds. That'd make for a pretty quick trip to pick up toilet paper and milk.

  • 2015 Audi A7 Sportback

Let's see: you want the utility of a four-door, but you want the sleek styling of a hatchback. The 2015 Audi A7 Sportback can give you both. This "five-door coupe" has been completely refreshed, with your choice of five engines — two gas, three diesel, ranging in power from 218 to 330hp — wheels ranging from 17 to 21 inches, available MMI touch infotainment system with optional built-in LTE-powered Wi-Fi, an optional Bang & Olufsen sounds system, Matrix LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, a night vision assistant, and a pre-sense safety system. Plus, you know, the aluminum and high-tech steel body doesn't look to shabby, either.
