Belmont Hut
Inspired by Scandinavian design but located on a cattle farm in the Ohio Valley, the Belmont Hut brings a new aesthetic to the forefront — country minimalism. The practice brings together traditional building techniques, an emphasis on craft, and Noway's Hygge philosophy for a simplified version of the standard rural cabin. Nestled in the woods, the cedar shelter was built entirely by family and friends. Bleached Eastern Pine floors and walls lined with white lap paneling give the 600-square-foot interior a bright and airy atmosphere. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlook the lake below while flooding the interior with natural light. Equipped with solar panels and a rain collection system, the project was sustainably built and operates off-grid.
